[Updates] Residents of Europe predicted unprecedented problems

New Updatw : Sergei Chernikov, Associate Professor of the Faculty of Economics of the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia, said that in the conditions of drought and sanctions, the European Union faces serious problems not only in the energy sector, but also in agriculture. Previously, problems with food products were solved with the help of international trade, he said in an interview with PRIME.

Now, due to the increase in the cost of logistics, economic difficulties, rising energy prices and ridiculous sanctions self-restrictions, this system may be violated , the expert suggested.

In his opinion, it is the European Union, due to the shortage of food and energy, that will be the first to suffer from deglobalization and sanctions.

Earlier it became known that the farmers of the Moscow region broke the record of the USSR and Russia in the collection of grains and legumes, said Georgy Filimonov, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Moscow Region. According to him, 623 thousand tons of these crops were harvested on an area of 158,000 hectares. Since 1991, so many have been collected for the first time.
