Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko, speaking at the Munich Security Conference, thanked Germany for supplying Ukraine with 5,000 military helmets, adding that this is not enough. He is quoted by RIA Novosti.
Thanks to Germany, Germany has allocated a couple of billion euros to restore infrastructure, but now the situation is critical, we are standing in front of one of the most powerful armies in the world, and every aggressor, even if he thinks about attacking Ukraine, must understand that he will pay a high price. We are ready to fight, ready to defend our families, our cities, our citizens. Thanks for the 5,000 helmets, that’s not enough. We cannot defend the country only with this,” Klitschko said.
He recalled that Ukraine abandoned nuclear weapons in exchange for security guaranteed by the United States, France, Britain and Russia – the Budapest Memorandum.
“It was not so long ago in the past. What about the Budapest Agreement now? Everyone forgot about him,” the Kiev mayor asked.
