Vedyakhin previously announced that Sberbank will close the Sberinvest Middle East office located in Abu Dhabi. The representative office will stop working in the first quarter of 2023. Vedyakhin cited sanctions as the reason for closing the office.
Earlier, the Central Bank of Russia approved a list of banks considered systemically important. It included 13 credit institutions that had this status before. Sberbank, Alfa-Bank, Gazprombank, Unicredit, Sovcombank, VTB, MCB, Otkritie, Rosbank, Tinkoff Bank, Promsvyazbank, Raiffeisenbank, and Rosselkhozbank retained the status of systemically important banks.
