Three people were killed and 50 were injured when a train derailed in the United States


A train derailment in the US state of Montana has killed at least three people and injured 50 others. The accident happened on Saturday (September 25) at local time.

Montana’s Department of Disaster Management and Emergency Assistance confirmed the incident to the New York Times.

The incident took place in north-central Montana on its way from Seattle to Chicago, according to a statement from rail operator Amtrak.

Five bogies of the train derailed when it reached the Joplin area near North Montana around 4 p.m., local time. Three were killed and at least 50 were injured. The train had 148 passengers and 13 crew.
