Colombians Samuel Gil, Danny Palencia, Jhon Pachecho and Sebastián Díaz reached the final stages of canoeing in the K1 1000, C1 1000 and K2 1000 modalities, respectively.

The event in which these Colombians achieved these results took place in Lake Calima, being the first speed boating competitions in the men’s branch of the I Junior Pan American Games Cali Valle 2021.

Samuel Fernández Gil competed in a K1 1000 boat, finishing second, following Puerto Rican Eddy Barranco, which entered him into the semifinals.

Danny Palencia competed in the C1 1000 modality, improving his personal best with a time of 04: 15.34 and finishing second behind the representative of Cuba.

Regarding Jhon Pacheco and Sebastián Díaz, they arrived in fourth position competing in the K2 1000 modality, which allowed them to go to the semifinal.

The semifinals will be held tomorrow, Friday, November 26. At 8:00 am, the first medals of the Pan American Games will be awarded in the male and female branches.
